What We Do

True Vision Builds is a full-service general contracting company serving homeowners throughout Whatcom County and the surrounding areas.

We specialize in residential construction and remodeling, with extensive experience in windows, doors, siding, decks, rot repair, framing, finish carpentry, and exterior weatherproofing—but our work doesn't stop there.

As a general contractor, there isn't much in the residential remodeling space that we don't do.

We've built custom benches, cabinetry, stairwells, decks, outdoor structures, walls, built-ins, and plenty of things that don't fit neatly into a category. We've repaired homes, transformed spaces, solved strange problems, and built ideas that started as nothing more than a conversation with a homeowner.

And that's one of our favorite parts of this job.

Every client brings something different to the table. Every home presents a new challenge. And every project gives us an opportunity to build something unique.

You bring us the vision. We'll figure out how to build it.

Windows & Doors

Window and door replacement is one of our specialties.

We handle everything from straightforward replacements to complex installations involving rot repair, reframing, exterior trim, flashing, interior finish carpentry, and older homes that require a little more problem-solving.

We believe a great window or door is only as good as the installation behind it. Proper flashing, water management, air sealing, insulation, trim, and finish work all matter.

Our goal isn't simply to install a new product.

It's to make it look like it belongs there—and make sure the work behind it is built to last.

Siding & Exterior Carpentry

The exterior of your home is a system.

Siding, trim, flashing, weather barriers, windows, doors, roofing transitions, and penetrations all have to work together to keep Pacific Northwest weather where it belongs: outside.

We install and repair siding, exterior trim, soffits, fascia, and other exterior details while paying close attention to what's happening underneath them.

If we uncover damaged sheathing, framing, rot, or improperly installed flashing along the way, we're not interested in simply covering it back up.

We'll show you what we found, explain the problem, and develop a plan to correct it.

Rot & Water-Damage Repair

Sometimes a project changes the moment we open up the wall.

Hidden rot and water damage are extremely common in Pacific Northwest homes, especially around windows, doors, decks, siding transitions, and improperly flashed areas.

Our team is experienced in tracing water problems back to their source, removing damaged material, repairing framing and sheathing, and rebuilding the assembly with proper water management in mind.

We don't just want to repair the damage.

We want to understand why it happened in the first place so we're not rebuilding the same problem.

Framing

At True Vision Builds, framing is one of the things we love most because it is where a project truly starts to take shape. We take on framing projects of all sizes, from interior walls and structural repairs to additions, garages, shops, ADUs, roof systems, stair openings, remodels, and full residential builds. Whether we are matching into an existing structure, rebuilding damaged framing, creating new openings, changing a floor plan, framing a new roofline, or starting from the ground up on an entirely new home, we are comfortable taking on the structural carpentry that brings the project together. We also handle attached and detached ADUs, garage conversions, outbuildings, and larger remodeling projects where the framing needs to adapt to an older home or a completely new design. Good framing affects everything that comes after it, from windows and doors to drywall, cabinets, siding, roofing, and finish work, so we pay close attention to layout, structure, openings, connections, and the details that will eventually be covered up. Some projects start with a set of plans, some start with a problem, and some start with a homeowner saying, “I want to turn this into something else.” Either way, if it needs to be framed, we want to build it.

Remodeling & General Contracting

This is where things really open up.

True Vision Builds is a general contracting company, which means we aren't limited to a short menu of services.

We've taken on custom cabinetry, benches, stairwells, framing, drywall, finish carpentry, built-ins, flooring and subfloor work, structural repairs, room renovations, and completely custom projects that didn't have a name until the homeowner described what they wanted.

For larger remodeling projects, we can coordinate the different trades and moving pieces required to bring the project together.

Carpenters, electricians, plumbers, drywall, paint, specialty trades—we manage the construction process so you're not left trying to coordinate an entire project yourself.

If it's part of remodeling or improving a home, there's a good chance we can help.

And if your idea is something we've never built before?

Even better.

That's part of what keeps this work interesting

Decks

We build and repair decks designed around the way you actually want to use your outdoor space. From simple replacements and small landings to large entertaining areas, stairs, railings, and complete deck rebuilds, we handle projects of all sizes. We work with both wood and composite decking and pay close attention to the details underneath the finished surface, including framing, flashing, drainage, structural connections, and water management. Whether your existing deck needs repairs or you want to start from scratch, our goal is to build something that looks great, feels solid, and is ready for years of Pacific Northwest weather.

Outdoor Structures

Sometimes the best part of a property isn't inside the house. We build custom pergolas, pavilions, covered outdoor spaces, porches, shelters, and other outdoor structures designed specifically for your home and the way you want to use it. Every project is a little different, which is exactly what we enjoy about this kind of work. Whether you have detailed plans or just an idea you've been thinking about, bring us the vision and we'll help turn it into something real.

Custom Carpentry

Some of the best projects we've worked on started with a homeowner saying:

"I have an idea..."

That's exactly what we want to hear.

Custom benches. Built-ins. Cabinets. Stair details. Trim. Unique wall assemblies. One-off pieces. Strange spaces that need a creative solution.

Carpentry gives us the ability to take an idea and turn it into something real.

Every home is different, and we don't believe everything needs to come out of a catalog.

Sometimes the right solution needs to be built specifically for you.

What's Your Vision?

No two projects that come through our door are exactly the same—and that's one of the things we love most about what we do.

Maybe you know exactly what you want.

Maybe you have a picture saved on your phone.

Maybe you've been staring at an awkward space in your house for five years thinking, “There has to be something we can do with that.”

Bring us the idea.

Bring us the problem.

Bring us the vision.

We want to hear it. Let us build it for you.

True Vision Builds
Built for the Pacific Northwest.

Built for the Pacific Northwest

We live here. We build here. And we understand what Pacific Northwest homes are up against.

Rain, moisture, older construction methods, previous repairs, and decades of remodeling can create challenges you don't always see until a project begins.

That's why we believe quality construction isn't just about what you can see when we're finished.

It's about everything behind it, too.

The framing.

The flashing.

The waterproofing.

The connections.

The small details that eventually get covered up but determine whether the project performs the way it should.

We take pride in the finished product, but we take just as much pride in the work you'll never see again.
