Siding

When homeowners start talking about new siding, one name comes up again and again: James Hardie®.

True Vision Builds is proud to be part of the James Hardie Contractor Alliance as an approved James Hardie contractor. We work with Hardie siding because it is a proven fiber-cement product that offers homeowners a great combination of durability, appearance, and long-term performance—especially for homes here in the Pacific Northwest.

But James Hardie is only one of the siding options we work with.

At True Vision Builds, we install a wide range of siding products, styles, and exterior systems, and we also handle siding repairs of all sizes. Whether you need a few damaged boards replaced, a section repaired after water intrusion, or a complete siding replacement, our focus is on both the finished appearance and what is happening behind the siding.

Because siding does a lot more than make your house look good.

It is the first line of defense for one of the most important systems in your home: the exterior wall assembly.

Siding Repairs

Not every siding project means replacing the whole house.

We take on siding repairs for damaged, cracked, loose, rotted, or failing sections of siding, as well as repairs around windows, doors, penetrations, trim, and other problem areas.

And when we open up a damaged section, we don't just replace what you can see.

We look at the flashing, water-resistive barrier, sheathing, and framing behind it to make sure there isn't a bigger problem hiding underneath.

If we find water damage or rot, we'll show you what's going on and help develop the right repair plan before everything gets covered back up.

Better Measurements. Better Material Estimates.

Before we start ordering material, we want to know what we're actually working with.

For siding projects, we can use drone technology to map the exterior of your home and help calculate the square footage needed for our material takeoff. This gives us a more accurate starting point for estimating quantities, helps reduce unnecessary material waste, and allows us to build a better material estimate before your project begins.

It's one more way we use modern technology to take some of the guesswork out of construction.

We're Pretty Excited About Building Science

Siding is one of our favorite subjects because there have been some major advancements in the way we understand and build exterior wall systems.

Here in the Pacific Northwest, water is the enemy.

The siding itself isn't supposed to be the only thing keeping water out of your home. Good wall assemblies are designed with the understanding that some moisture can eventually make its way behind the exterior cladding.

What Is a Rainscreen?

A rainscreen creates a small drainage and ventilation space between your siding and the water-resistive barrier protecting the structure of your home.

Instead of installing the siding directly against the wall assembly, we create a controlled gap behind the siding using an appropriate rainscreen system, drainage mat, or furring system.
